How to choose words that work
Pick words that describe how you want to feel, not just what you want to own. 'Rested' and 'free' often say more about a goal than a picture of a beach does.
Choose one word per area of your board and keep the total under ten so the board stays easy to read.

How many words should go on a vision board?
Five to ten. More than that and the board gets hard to read from across the room.
Should I use single words or phrases?
Mix both. Single words work as headers; short phrases like 'say yes' work as reminders.
